Aguilar Hosts Key Congressional Leader Chairman David Price to Highlight Inland Empire Housing and Transportation Priorities
Today Rep. Pete Aguilar hosted Rep. David Price (NC-4), Chairman of the House Appropriations Transportation, Housing & Urban Development Subcommittee, for a tour of key Inland Empire housing and infrastructure priorities. Throughout the visit, Aguilar advocated for federal investment into key local projects such as the San Bernardino International Airport runway repair project, affordable housing developments under National CORE and expanded public transit options like the Redlands Passenger Rail.
“Chairman Price understands the importance of investing in housing and infrastructure to help revitalize local economies and help middle-class families succeed. From creating good-paying jobs and driving down the cost of housing to helping reduce smog pollution and alleviate traffic, these types of federal investments can have drastic effects on communities like the Inland Empire. I’m grateful to Chairman Price for spending some time in San Bernardino County and for his continued advocacy for regions like ours,” said Aguilar.
“California’s 31st Congressional District is a key logistics hub that helps support commerce throughout the country. It’s clear that we need to make meaningful investments in the transportation and housing infrastructure of communities like this one to sustain good jobs and give middle-class families a fair shot to succeed. I’m grateful to Congressman Aguilar for showing me around his hometown and district, and look forward to continuing my work with him back in Washington,” said Chairman Price.
Rep. Aguilar serves on the House Appropriations Committee and is a Member of the Transportation, Housing & Urban Development Subcommittee, the subcommittee responsible for allocating federal funding for transportation and housing infrastructure projects.
