Aguilar to Hold Virtual Roundtable on Expanded Child Tax Credit
On Thursday, May 13th Rep. Pete Aguilar will hold a virtual roundtable with local experts to talk about the expanded Child Tax Credit that was recently signed into law as part of the American Rescue Plan. Estimates indicate that more than 90 percent of children in California’s 31st Congressional District will benefit from the expanded credit, with approximately 50,600 households receiving an average total benefit of $3,400.
As part of the American Rescue Plan Rep. Aguilar helped pass, families could get monthly payments of up to $300 per child beginning as soon as July. To receive benefits, eligible families should file their 2020 tax return as soon as possible.
