Aguilar Announces $2.8 Million for Inland Empire Affordable Health Care
Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that SAC Health System (SACHS) has received $2.8 million in federal funding from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The funding will allow the Inland Empire health care provider to expand its services and provide care to a greater number of San Bernardino County residents.
“The coronavirus crisis has shown that we need to put an emphasis on delivering high-quality health care for all of our communities, regardless of economic status. I’m proud to announce this funding, which will help providers like SACHS serve more Inland Empire residents and lead to better overall health outcomes throughout our region,” said Aguilar.
“We are so grateful for the long-term, continued support from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to allow SAC Health System, a federally qualified health center, to expand services to the most vulnerable members of our community. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted our communities, and SAC Health System continues to meet the needs of the low-income communities of the Inland Southern Region of California” said Jason Lohr, MD, CEO of SAC Health System.
Rep. Aguilar serves on the House Appropriations Committee, the committee responsible for determining funding levels for federal agencies like HRSA.
