Aguilar Announces $520,000 for Inland Empire Affordable Housing Programs
Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that Neighborhood Partnership Housing Services, Inc. (NPHS) has been awarded $520,000 by the United States Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund. The grant will help fund NPHS’ Community Investment Trust, which provides down payment assistance, home repair and solar financing to low-to-moderate income residents of Riverside and San Bernardino County.
“The coronavirus crisis has made it harder for many members of our community to make ends meet. I’m proud to announce this funding, which will help make the dream of homeownership a reality for more Inland Empire families, and I’ll continue to support programs that provide these much-needed resources to our region,” said Aguilar.
“We are grateful to the CDFI Fund for allocating awards to NPHS,” said Clemente Arturo Mojica, President and CEO of NPHS. “The CDFI Fund grant award will further capitalize NPHS’ Community Investment Trust which provides vital financing programs for low-to-moderate income homebuyers and homeowners throughout the Inland Empire.”
Rep. Aguilar serves as Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, the committee responsible for allocating funds to programs like the CDFI Fund.
