Rep. Aguilar Announces $875,000 for Inland Empire Girl Scouts

Today, Rep. Aguilar announced that he secured $875,424 for the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council’s Skyland Ranch Project.

Currently, the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council serve over 10,000 Girl Scouts in the Inland Empire. This funding will go towards expanding and repairing their camp, Camp Skyland Ranch. Specifically, the funding will be used to repair its Environmental Learning Lab, which houses their environmental education program, and expand their spaces for additional programming.

“I’m proud to have helped secure over $875,000 for the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar. “The Girls Scouts teach our young women and girls important values like entrepreneurship, leadership and community service, and soon they will be able to implement an even more well-rounded program at Camp Skyland Ranch. I am confident the staff and faculty will continue to build an enriching, educational and safe space for Inland Empire youth to continue growing into bright, engaged young adults.”

“Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council is incredibly honored to receive funding in the amount of $875,424 from Congressman Aguilar. This funding will directly benefit Skyland Ranch, our 191-acre Girl Scout camp located in the San Jacinto Mountains, just below Idyllwild, by allowing us to make capital improvements to our camp that will help us increase our capacity to serve Girl Scouts and their families and positively impact generations to come. The funds will also enable us to grow our outdoor programmatic offerings and environmental education program, by enhancing the equipment we are able to provide and expanding our reach to impact more students in Congressman Aguilar’s 33rd Congressional District,” said Cynthia Breunig, President & CEO of the Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council.

Last month, Rep. Pete Aguilar helped pass the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 into law, which included over $17 million in federal investments for 15 local projects across the region Rep. Aguilar represents in Congress.
