Representative Pete Aguilar was re-elected to the House of Representatives in 2016 to represent the 31st Congressional District of California. A member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the New Democrat Coalition, Representative Aguilar serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee - the committee responsible for allocating funds for all government programs and operations. There, he serves on the Subcommittee on Energy, Water Development, and Related Agencies and the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.

Representative Aguilar is a member of the following caucuses: Pro-Choice Caucus, LGBT Equality Caucus, Latino-Jewish Caucus, Diabetes Caucus, Work for Warriors Caucus, Joint Strike Fighter Caucus, Veterans Jobs Caucus, Former Mayor Caucus, Wine Caucus, Native American Caucus, Steel Caucus and the Hunger Caucus.
