In Case You Missed It: Rep. Pete Aguilar Introduces Bill to Make Student Loans Easier to Repay
Last week, Representative Pete Aguilar introduced his latest bill, H.R. 5622, the Grace Period Alleviation (GPA) Act. The bill would help ease the financial burden on students by extending their loan repayment grace period, eliminating interest payments during the grace period for students with subsidized loans, and allowing students to refinance their loans under certain circumstances.
Rep. Aguilar’s own struggle with college affordability inspired the bill. Beau Yarbrough with the San Bernardino Sun has the full story here.
