San Bernardino gets grant for 11 new police officers
Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the Department of Justice (DOJ) allocated $2,850,161 to the San Bernardino Police Department (SBPD) through the Office of Community Oriented Police Services (COPS). The COPS Hiring Program Award will provide funding to hire more officers to fill patrol openings in target areas, improve crime identification measures and cultivate community relations between law enforcement and San Bernardino residents.
