Aguilar Issues Statement Ahead of House Impeachment Vote

Rep. Pete Aguilar issued the following statement ahead of the House of Representatives’ vote on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump:

“There are few decisions Congress can make that are more solemn than whether or not to impeach a president. The fact is that President Trump attempted to use the power of his office to coerce a foreign government to interfere in an American election. The president then used the power of his office to obstruct a Congressional investigation into his wrongdoing. In light of these facts, and after consultation with members of my community, I will vote in support of both articles of impeachment against the president. I took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States, and that’s what I intend to do with this vote. No one is above the law.”
