Aguilar Issues Statement in Response to President Trump’s State of the Union Address

Rep. Aguilar issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s State of the Union Address:

“The president’s claims tonight are not based in reality. From trying to take away health care from millions of Americans with pre-existing conditions, to vilifying and attacking immigrants and refugees, the president has only made life harder for our country’s most vulnerable populations. His signature legislative achievement is a tax break for wealthy corporations that left middle-class families with the bill and exploded our national deficit. If the president wants to see real results, he should urge the Senate to act on the bills to raise wages, lower health care costs and protect Dreamers that House Democrats have already passed.”
