Aguilar Announces Over $170,000 in COVID Relief Funding for San Bernardino Airport
San Bernardino, CA—Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the San Bernardino International Airport Authority (SBIAA) has received a $176,022 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program. The funding will be used to offset revenue lost due to the COVID-19 crisis.
“The San Bernardino Airport is a key economic engine for the city and for our region, and I’ve been proud to support its growth and development over the years. During this crisis, making sure our small businesses, schools, first responders and key community assets like the airport have the resources to keep their doors open and come out of the other side even stronger has been my top priority. I’ll continue fighting for the Inland Empire and make sure our community has the resources it needs to succeed,” said Aguilar.
“SBD International Airport has transitioned into a jobs hub in the Inland Empire, and we are grateful for the hard work of Congressman Aguilar and his colleagues to ensure this Airport and the region continue to grow and thrive in the years ahead,” said Michael Burrows, CEO of the SBIAA.
Rep. Aguilar sits on the House Appropriations Committee, the committee responsible for providing funding for federal agencies like the FAA.
