Aguilar Announces $4 Million for Inland Empire Mental Health Services
Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that Citadel Community Care Facilities, the licensed facilities arm of Citadel Community Development Corporation, has received a $4 million grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support mental health and substance abuse treatment at the Citadel Community Mental Health Clinic.
“Now more than ever, Inland Empire residents need access to comprehensive health care services, including care for mental health and addiction. I’m proud to support federal investments into mental health services, and will continue working to provide funding to expand health care access in the Inland Empire,” said Aguilar.
“The cornerstone of Citadel’s success has been its provision of services in a holistic manner. This funding will dramatically improve the health and welfare of the people in our community. The Citadel Community Health Clinic will provide vital services by increasing access to evidence-based substance use and mental health treatment services, including 24/7 crisis care, physical health care and social support services in a single location,” said Donise Conerly, CEO of Citadel Community Development Corporation.
Rep. Aguilar serves on the House Appropriations Committee, the committee responsible for determining funding levels for federal agencies like HHS.
