Aguilar Announces $3 Million for Inland Empire Supply Chain and Transportation Infrastructure

San Bernardino, CA — Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the Inland Valley Development Agency (IVDA) has received a $3 million grant from the US Economic Development Administration (EDA). This funding will allow IVDA to make necessary upgrades to transportation and supply chain infrastructure and help the San Bernardino International Airport increase their capacity for commercial cargo.

“Growing the Inland Empire economy and creating good-paying jobs for our residents has always been my top priority in Congress,” said Aguilar. “That’s why I’ve been advocating for additional funding for the San Bernardino International Airport and am pleased to see those efforts paying off for our community. This new funding will create hundreds of new jobs for our residents, attract new private investment into the City of San Bernardino and help alleviate the burden of inflation by strengthen the Southern California supply chain.”

Mike Burrows, CEO of Inland Valley Development Agency and the San Bernardino International Airport said, “This project is an incredible opportunity to complete a vital infrastructure lifeline for our airport at a pivotal time in our California economy, enhancing safety and ensuring continued consistent support of our supply chain and the flying public.  We greatly appreciate the tireless support of Congressman Aguilar and our long-standing partnership with the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration.”

This grant award came after Rep. Aguilar wrote a letter to the EDA advocating for this funding.

Rep. Aguilar serves as Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and is a Member of the House Appropriations Committee.
