Rep. Aguilar Announces 2024 Congressional Art Competition Winners
Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar announced the winners ofthe 2024 Congressional Art Competition.
Alejandro Esqueda, a tenth-grade student at Carter High School in Rialto, CA, won first place for his piece “El Coyote.” Amanda Romero, a twelfth-grade student at Arroyo Valley High School in San Bernardino, CA received second place for her piece “Baseline”. Viridiana Martinez, a twelfth-grade student at Arroyo Valley High School received third place for her piece “My Guardian Angel”.
“I was so impressed by all the pieces that were submitted this year,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar. “As always, our students let their creativity shine and beautifully captured our community. I’m thankful to the teachers and parents who have supported our students throughout this process, and I can’t wait to show off a piece of the Inland Empire in Washington, D.C.”
The first-place winner’s artwork will be displayed in the US Capitol building in Washington, D.C. for one year, and the second and third place winners will have their work displayed in the Garcia Center for the Arts in San Bernardino. The winners were chosen by a panel of local artists nominated by the Arts Connection Network.
