Rep. Aguilar Announces $850,000 to Improve Inland Empire Traffic, Reduce Congestion
Today, Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that the City of Rialto will receive $850,000 in federal funding to enhance infrastructure at the I-10 and Riverside Avenue interchange. The project includes extending existing lanes and adding a sidewalk, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and improve accessibility for both residents and businesses in the area.
“This investment is a step toward improving the safety, efficiency and overall quality of our roads, and it will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for our community members,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar. “As new developments take place in our region that will bolster our local economy and create jobs, we must ensure that we have the infrastructure to meet the increasing demands.”
“City of Rialto appreciates the efforts of Congressmember Pete Aguilar, in receiving much needed federal funding to address ongoing infrastructure and safety improvements to the Riverside Avenue bridge structure, south of the Interstate 10, in Rialto,” stated Mayor Robertson. “The residents of Rialto, as well as residents of the unincorporated community of Bloomington and everyday workers and business will eventually see improved, and much needed safety improvements for residents, employers and commerce using the corridor.”
The I-10/Riverside Avenue interchange is a vital link in the region’s transportation network, handling a significant volume of both commuter and commercial traffic. The planned improvements will help alleviate congestion, enhance safety and ensure the smooth flow of goods and services through the area.
Rep. Aguilar also helped pass the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 into law, which included over $17 million in federal investments for 15 local projects across the region Rep. Aguilar represents in Congress.
