Rep. Pete Aguilar announced that Inland Behavioral Health Services, Inc. (IBHS) received two grants from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The first grant of $2,488,515 will help IBHS provide an array of key health care services to low-income and at-risk populations throughout the Inland Empire. The second grant provides $126,000 in funding to focus on chronic hypertensive patients and assist IBHS in monitoring and improving their condition through the use of Bluetooth-enabled blood pressure monitoring devices that will feed the data directly to their health centers. 

 

“IBHS is a key partner in providing affordable health care for Inland Empire residents, and I’m proud to announce that they’ve received this funding. As Congress continues working to provide relief to the American people during this pandemic, I’ll remain focused on bringing these types of resources to San Bernardino County,” said Aguilar.

 

“These awards provide much-needed healthcare services to the poor, disenfranchised, low-income, no-income and at-risk populations of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. These services include: full-scope medical; dental; behavioral health; substance abuse; and many ancillary services. The funding will also allow us to use technology to secure better health outcomes for residents. With the support of this federal funding, IBHS will continue to serve the needs of the community,” said Dr. Temetry Lindsey, CEO &President of IBHS.

 

Rep. Aguilar serves on the House Appropriations Committee, the committee responsible for funding federal grant initiatives at agencies like HHS.
